About Christine
Christine Bairstow has farmed cereals and sheep, including Gulnare SAMM (South African Meat merinos) stud in Western Australia’s Great Southern with her husband, Phil. She and Phil recently moved to Kudardup in the South West.
Her Photography
Christine took up photography to record the everyday of life on the land. She loves the light, colours and changes every season. After years of carrying a camera all over the farm just pointing and shooting, she decided she wanted to learn more and get off auto. This resulted in enrolling and doing an online photography course through The Photography Institute, which fitted in with helping to run the farm.
It has been a real eye opener, no more auto, and it has sparked a desire to learn more. Christine is developing a passion for taking portraits to the point that she has done some photo shoots around the district and wants to do more.
She loves travelling, and recording rural life and its people.
